Oil Spill Kits to meet the requirements of IMO A
535/13 and OPA of 1990, section 4202. To meet the regulation it is recommended that vessels of 122mtr and less shall have

In-land oil barges must be able to deal with at least 1 barrel (159 litres of oil).
Regulation 37 of MARPOL Annex I requires that oil tankers of 150 gross tonnage and above and all ships of 400 gross tonnage and above carry an approved Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (SOPEP).
As part of this contingency planning, vessels under 400' require a 7 Barrel (1100 ltr) Marine Spill Kit. Vessels above 400' require a 12 barrel (1900 ltr) Marine Spill Kit.
These Spill Kits contain a variety of oil only absorbents only and PPE for addressing shipboard spills.
SOPEP = Shipboard Oil Spill Pollution Emergency Plan
With oil only
pads as the
primary absorbent, these
spill kits are designed for use on a sealed
surface such as the
workshop floor.
these pads are ideal
for proactive applications such as positioning under leaking machinery. they are packed
in hard wearing
hi-vis bags and bins and contain everything you need to address
spills of up to 200
litres.

Emergency response
• Establish an Emergency Response Plan and spill control procedure for
minor leak or spill scenario considering the nature of the material being released
(e.g. whether it is toxic or flammable).
• Minor leaks or spills may be handled by trained personnel or the Company
Emergency Response Team. Prepare a suitable spill control kit for emergency
use. Contents of a typical spill control kit include (non-exhaustive):
- universal inert absorbents (e.g. absorbent booms, pads, pillows) for spill
containment
- adsorbents for solvent and hydrocarbon spills
- drain covers and caution tape
- whisk broom or handheld brush, plastic/metal scoops and dust pan
- leak-proof disposal bags or containers to hold the spilled material and
contaminated absorbents
- sealable impervious disposal container(s)
• For major leaks, notify the Singapore Civil Defence Force and/or Police.
