Basic Outline

o   Classroom lesson

o   Practical demonstration (dry run) by trainer

o   Simple practical exercise for the trainees. Spill medium for the exercise will be clean water

Content of course

o   Familiarization with a spill kit’s contents & their applications

o   9-steps method to hazardous spill response

·       Step 1 – Assess the spill

·       Step 2 – Ensure personal safety 

·       Step 3 – Deploy spill response kit

·       Step 4 – Control the spill 

·       Step 5 – Contain the spill 

·       Step 6 – Absorb the spill 

·       Step 7 – Disposal 

·       Step 8 – Report the incident 

·       Step 9 – Evaluate and restock

There will be a hands-on approach through a simple spill exercise using Spill Station’s spill kit.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND ?

- SAFETY OFFICERS/ ENGINEERS/ HSE OFFICERS/ MANAGERS/ SUPERVISORS/ CERT TEAM

- ALL PERSONNEL INVOLVED IN RESPONDING TO A SPILL IN THE WORKPLACE

COURSE DURATION:

 2 hour training course. Minimum of one (2) weeks prior notice has to be given for preparation of the course.

THE TRAINING WILL BE CONDUCTED IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE PLEASE ARRANGE FOR YOUR OWN TRANSLATOR IF
